On Friday May 29^th, Kelly Nicholson, Katie Gardner, Sally Zimmerman and Lindsay Ferguson drove to Athens, Ohio for the Regional Leadership Conference. Although the drive to Athens was 4.5 hours, they all had a wonderful time. Once arriving at the Holiday Inn Express, they realized that their room was the only one with a balcony!

On Saturday, the conference began at 8 in the morning with ice breakers to get to know all of the Region G girls. This was followed by the following modules:  1) Managing Effective Meetings, 2) Leadership and 3) Building Membership. After beginning to learn how to enhance the University of Louisville SWE chapter, a fruit lunch was served, followed by dessert and coffee. After lunch, the girls listened to a guest speaker from Ohio University, which was followed by the Officer Training, which was lead by our Region’s RCR and RCNE. This allowed the girls to get ideas on fundraising and events from the other SWE chapters in Region G.  

After the conference was over, Sally, Kelly, Katie and Lindsay went out to eat at Rio Grande with the outgoing Region G governor and girls from Penn State and Ohio University.

This event was a great way to begin leadership training for some of the new officers!
