Returning to college as an adult can certainly be overwhelming!
Being back in a classroom will force you to use some mental “muscles” that you might not have used in a long time. You’ll also need to develop some other skills that might not have even existed when you were in school! Math, Reading, Writing, Critical thinking, Research, Computers to name a few. If you need help in this venture we are here to help. I will post useful tips and tricks throughout the semeseter for you to refer to. Also, I am always available on line to assist with homework questions, computer help, etc. If I can't help we have many members of our community that can share their talents.
Deborah Dunn: President 2008-2009 (congratulations Deborah the U of L Graduate Student Adult Learner of the YEAR 2009) See news

I live in the beautiful state of Kentucky, in downtown Louisville and I’m a graduate student of a certain advanced age which shall go unmentioned.
In May of 2007 I finally finished a thirty year pursuit of my BS in Sociology from the University of Louisville. In May of 2009, I expect to finish my MPH degree in Epidemiology at the School of Public Health and Information Sciences. I plan on continuing my educational pursuits by seeking a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology from a University in Kentucky. My long-term goal is to be a successful clinical trials research epidemiologist and make a noted difference in our medical world. Hopefully the observations and tips that I post here on our website will help others make the transition to academia as adults.
