Enrichment Programs and Research Opportunities

Up one level

The University of Louisville offers numerous enrichment and research opportunities for students interested in health care or the sciences. In addition to U of L, seek enrichment and research opportunities throughout the nation.

SMDEP
The University of Louisville offers the Summer Medical Dental Education Program and there are 11 other universities that also provide this enrichment opportunity. Several of our current and former MAPS members participated in these programs. If you're a freshmen or sophomore, please check this program out!
SROP and Other Research Programs
If you're interested in research, please visit the following websites to find out more about research opportunities at U of L and outside of Kentucky.
MCAT Preparation
The MCAT is offered over 22 times a year. This test requires plenty of preparation through review, studying and taking practice tests. Do not take the real test for practice. The 2012 MCAT schedule should be posted some time this semester. For more information about the MCAT, to access practice tests or for a listing of MCAT dates, please go to www.aamc.org/mcat. The Minority and Rural Affairs Office at the University of Louisville School of Medicine offers a FREE MCAT-DAT Review Summer Workshop for Kentucky and out of state residents (out of state MCAT students only). The program will be held May 29 - June 27, 2012. Applications can be found at http://louisville.edu/medschool/diversity/undergrad. Please contact Ms. Katie Leslie at 852-8109 or klfarm02@louisville.edu for more information. Ms. Leslie also serves as the Advisor for MAPS.
