PURPOSE

The Minority Association of Premedical Students (MAPS) is an academic support group that motivates, encourages and prepares pre-medical students to become competitive applicants for medical school or another health field program.

The Minority Association of Pre-medical students is the associate chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). Go to www.snma.org for more information.

The ultimate goal of MAPS is to produce more competitive health profession applicants and to diversify health professional school enrollment and the health professions workforce. This will be accomplished by better preparing pre-health students who may be from an under represented minority group, a medically under served area and/or from a disadvantaged background.
