Allen Morris, Ph.D., MBA, came to Louisville in August 2014 as the Director of the Office of Technology Transfer.  He earned his Ph.D. in molecular biology from Purdue University in 1994 and his MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2002.  Before coming to UofL in 2014, Allen was the Associate Director at VCU Innovation Gateway and a Licensing Executive and Project Leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory.  Prior to working in technology transfer, Allen was a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience at VCU.  Allen is a Certified Licensing Professional and has received several national and employer awards for his service in technology transfer.  Allen grew up in New Mexico and enjoys biking and cooking ethnic food.

Primary Responsibility Areas:

Leads all aspects of the University’s technology transfer operations and personally manages a portfolio of technologies and collaborations.  Working with the Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation and our sister offices, develops and implements strategy to enhance innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialization at UofL.
