Undergraduate Student Opportunities

KBRIN offers opportunities for experience in biomedical research to interested undergraduate students through several mentored research programs:

KBRIN Summer Undergraduate Biomedical Research program

Up to 18 undergraduate students are funded annually to participate in biomedical research under the supervision of faculty mentors who are actively engaged in biomedical research at the University of Louisville or the University of Kentucky.

Year-round Faculty Mentored Student-Research Experiences

This program provides part-time mentored research opportunities for undergraduate students during the academic year (and summer) at their home institution under the guidance of KBRIN-supported research faculty.

From Matthew Woeste, NKU, Biology, Junior:
“Thank you for your support at our institution. NKU is extremely cooperative in undergraduate research and creativity. A KBRIN stipend has allowed me to stimulate my learning experience even more!”
