Undergraduate Student Opportunities
KBRIN offers opportunities for experience in biomedical research to interested undergraduate students through several mentored research programs:
- KBRIN Summer Undergraduate Biomedical Research program
Up to 18 undergraduate students are funded annually to participate in biomedical research under the supervision of faculty mentors who are actively engaged in biomedical research at the University of Louisville or the University of Kentucky. - Year-round Faculty Mentored Student-Research Experiences
This program provides part-time mentored research opportunities for undergraduate students during the academic year (and summer) at their home institution under the guidance of KBRIN-supported research faculty. - Southeast INBRE Region Program of Distinction
This collaborative undergraduate summer program, established by the INBRE Southeast Region states, has bioinformatics as its focus. Each host state accepts two students currently enrolled in biology and/or computer science studies and offers participants an opportunity to work on a variety of high quality projects.
