Instructions for CITI training

Education Certification Program

For several years, the Human Subjects Protection Program Office has offered an in-service education program for all researchers, coordinators and administrators associated with the University of Louisville and its affiliated institutions. It is obvious to the IRB that the efficient approval and continuing review of protocols is enhanced if the researchers are better acquainted with the basic principles, standards and requirements of human subject protections as they pertain to our local institutions.

The Offices of the Executive Vice President for Research, and the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, have mandated that all researchers, including study coordinators and all other key study personnel, attend human subject protections training. Beginning July 1, 2000, the Human Subjects Protection Program Office no longer considered initial or continuing reviews of protocols without certification of participation in such a course. The following options are currently available for human subject protections training:

Course Registration

For individuals who have never completed the CITI Basic Course click <here>

For individuals with a current CITI username and password, have completed the CITI Basic Course, and need the refresher, click <here>

For individuals who have completed the CITI Basic Course and need to re-register, click <here>
