Review Fees

IRB REVIEW FEES

2009-2010 FISCAL YEAR (Beginning July 1, 2009)

Initial Review Fees

All research sponsored by corporate entities and expected to generate $10,000 or more in revenue, require an IRB review fee.  Beginning July 1, 2009, new IRB review fees will go into effect.  The fee for initial review of a protocol submitted is $2,700.  If the study is received after 7/1/2009, the new fee rate will be assessed.  As in the past, submission for IRB review commits the sponsor and investigator to pay the IRB review fee regardless of the outcome of the review.  Final approval and approved study documents will not be issued until the initial IRB review fee is paid.

Additionally, continuing review fees are being increased to $750.  Invoices for continuation review fees will continue to be sent to study sponsors approximately 60 days prior to study expiration so that the continuation review fees can be paid before study approval expires.  Approved study documents (such as informed consent and HIPAA documents) will not be sent to the investigator until the review fee is paid.

2008-2009

IRB Review fees remained the same as 2007-2008 fees. Initial Review Fee:  $2000, Continuation Review Fee: $500 through June 30, 2009.
