Faculty Research Interest Database

GENIUS a Gathering of Global Intelligence.

GENIUS is a searchable WWW network and database of scientific and scholarly expertise. The system contains primary source profiles from scholars and researchers at leading universities and research institutions throughout the world. GENIUS profiles are maintained by individual scholars, provide global recognition to participants, and serve as a registry of institutional talent and expertise.

GENIUS an Institutional Resource

GENIUS can serve as an institutional faculty database for participating institutions. Recognizing that scholarly expertise is an institutional asset, GENIUS was designed so that all scholar profiles affiliated with an institution can serve as a database located at (and OWNED BY!) the Institution. Additionally, the system's collection of sponsor-required information can interact with SPAS (Sponsored Programs Administrative Systems), and will assist in the development and/or electronic submission of proposals to sponsors. As an institutional database, GENIUS has facilities which allow institutions to define information fields they wish to collect.

GENIUS as a Funding Resource

Through GENIUS, you can have SMARTS (SPIN Matching and Researcher Transmittal System) - an electronic matching and funding opportunity notification system which automatically provides current and targeted U.S. Federal and Non-Federal (and expanding international) funding opportunities to researchers via email - on a DAILY basis!

NOTE: If you have any questions regarding these services, please contact the Office of Sponsored Programs Development at 852-6512.
