ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE IRB
Approximately 24 months ago, the University embarked on implementing an enterprise-wide integrated research information system (iRIS). The IRB module came on-line as of Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
If you have human subjects research studies that have been paper studies, a study shell will be available within the iRIS system to allow you to convert your paper study to iRIS. As of September 3, we are no longer allowing or processing any actions in paper format. To convert your paper study to iris you will need to complete an IRB Application and a conversion amendment within the iRIS system.
If you have studies that used to be BRAAN2 studies you will need to update your study in iRIS and prepare one of the following actions: 1) an amendment to your study; 2) a continuation review for your study.
BRAAN studies that were pending approval: please submit an amendment, choose "other", fill out the application and attach all study documents. If you have the Admin Mods memo or Board mods memo please attach that as well.
The HSPPO will be establishing a flexible training schedule for those wishing to take training prior to beginning an iRIS submission. Although we suggested training before utilizing the BRAAN system, the new iRIS system is very intuitive and very easy to use. The training schedule should be posted on the HSPPO website within the next few days.
