Presented to Corporations for recognition of achievements in certified minority: Purchases, Utilizations, Established Supplier Diversity Programs, Implementation Processes, Participation Goals and Annual Achievements, along with the Processes and Philosophies behind these results. The goal of this process is not only to recognize the Best of the Best but also to help firms build better minority participation programs. Corporation's long term support and participation of TSMSDC events and activities is also a consideration. This year's award was the most competitive class in TSMSDC history. |

The minority coordinator should show influence on buying decisions; decision making role in promoting minority contract opportunities; performance as a significant player with corporate minority business team or mentoring efforts; ability as a problem solver or advisor to minority businesses. Purchasing Agent/Buyers should reflect: identification and sourcing of minority business opportunities; being a watchdog for new business opportunities (break-through opportunities); willingness to make referrals to other potential corporate users; diligence in opening 2nd tier opportunities. |
