Specialty Clinics
The Psychological Services Center offers specialty clinics in the following areas: Anxiety Research & Treatment Center (ART-C), Integrative Psychotherapy, Center for Mindfulness in Health, and Geropsychological Assessment and Intervention. Treatment in these specialty clinics is offered on an individual, couple, family, or group basis, as appropriate.
Anxiety Research & Treatment Center
The Anxiety Research and Treatment Center is a specialty clinic offering state-of-the-art assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders throughout the life span. Services are provided for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing difficulties with anxiety such as panic attacks, obsessions, compulsions, social anxiety, fears (such as public speaking, going to school, separation anxiety, etc.) and worries.
Integrative Psychotherapy Clinical Team
This team is an Integrative Psychotherapy team with a focus upon treatment of a broad range of mental disorders, emphasizing the biophychosocial complications of mental illness and emotional stress in adults. The team is focused on the application of state-of-the-art empirically valid integrative treatment approaches in an individualized and creative manner to meet client goals and promote psychological well-being.
Center for Mindfulness in Health
This program integrates clinical practice and research based on mindfulness, an acceptance-based intervention model. We utilize Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based psychotherapy in working both individually and in groups with clients facing a wide range of challenging life circumstances, including medical conditions, depression, anxiety, and stress.
Geropsychological Assessment and Intervention Team
This team provides a variety of clinical services to older adults and their families including assessment of late life cognitive problems including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and other mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and grief. This can include a full neuropsychological evaluation or a brief screening for cognitive problems. We also provide psychological services to older adults including individuals recently diagnosed with dementia (such as AD). This includes psychotherapy for depression, anxiety, and other psychological concerns associated with receiving a dementia diagnosis. We also offer psychotherapy for caregivers of people with dementia.
The CARDS (Child with ADHD and Related Difficulties) Team
This team specializes in providing state-of-the-art evidence-based services for children and adolescents who have or may have ADHD. Services include diagnostic evaluations, individual and family therapy, and group services (including Parent Training for ADHD groups and the Managing Frustration for Children with ADHD child group).
