Lab Manager:

Kristain Pile

Kristain has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education (concentrating in learning and behavior disorders).  Kristain has devoted her career to working with children and has had a vast amount of time spent with children. She has experience in daycare settings as well has Jefferson County Public Schools. In her experiences, she has had the opportunity to work with children as young as six weeks old and as old as nineteen. She joined to become the lab manager and obtain firsthand research experiences in psychology.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two dogs.

Research assistants:

Brittani Loeser

Brittani is a junior Psychology major and planning on attending graduate school for Occupational Therapy. this is her second semester as a Research Assistant in the KID Lab.  She is a former day care teacher and nanny, and she enjoys interacting with children. She joined the lab to gain more experience working with children, and she spends her free time exercising and relaxing with friends.

Kayla Renner

Kayla is a senior majoring in Psychology and Humanities; she is also pursuing minors in both Philosophy and Religious Studies. This is her second semester with the KID Lab. She has a broad range of interests but more than anything she loves working with kids. After her last year at UofL, she hopes to earn a Masters in School Counseling.

Aubrey Williams

Aubrey is a senior majoring in Psychology. This her second semester as a Research Assistant with the KID Lab.  She has previous experience with children as a dance instructor, school age teacher at a daycare, and an after school teaching assistant. After graduation she intends to go to graduate school to pursue a career in Developmental Psychology.


Lauren Bajek

Lauren is a senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish.  Her previous experience with children includes being a teaching assistant in a summer preschool program as well as being a cheer leading coach.  After graduating from U of L, she hopes to go to graduate school to study counseling.

Catherine Mountain Catherine is a senior Political Science major at U of L.  She is also an intern for the Open Arms Clinic at Home of the Innocents and spends her free time with her friends and her two dogs.  She plans on attending medical school after spending a gap year volunteering in some capacity and hopes to pursue a career working with children.

Emma Groskind Emma is a junior majoring in Psychology.  She has a broad range of interests in the field of brain sciences, and more specifically Abnormal Psychology.  After earning her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend graduate school to study Clinical Psychology.
