UofLFolio

Welcome to UofL Folio

UoL Folio is the University of Louisville’s online system for faculty to record their accomplishments related to teaching, research, creative production, service activities and community engagement.

UofL Folio is a tool to help faculty prepare for and conduct reviews such as annual performance evaluations, promotion and tenure reviews, and periodic career reviews. By digitizing our data collection and reporting, we are also improving the quality of our data and the efficiency of our work processes.

Some information in UofL Folio is uploaded from university systems. All courses taught that generate student credit hours are uploaded automatically, as are grants and contracts information managed by the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation. Other information can be entered manually or imported from online sources such as Google Scholar and PubMed. UofL Folio is meant to reduce the amount of time and effort faculty spend each year reporting on their accomplishments, and increase the accuracy and consistency of their data.

In addition to generating reports for faculty reviews, UofL Folio is used for purposes such as faculty and department webpages, facilitating faculty recognition, and meeting institutional reporting needs, including those related to accreditation.

Faculty

All faculty are set up with UoL Folio accounts institutionally as part of joining the university. Click the button above or weblink, you will be redirected to our UofL log-in to enter your UofL userID and password, for access to the UofL Folio site.
Some faculty may have existing accounts with other Interfolio products such as "Dossier" or "Review, Promotion and Tenure", causing problems at first log-in. The solution is to merge your accounts. Please see Interfolio's product help instructions to merge accounts. Alternatively, you may email or call Interfolio Scholar Services at (877) 997-8807. In most cases, this is an easy fix.
Preferred browsers are Firefox and Chrome.
UofL Folio training is available in a variety of formats:
Your best source for information on where to enter particular activity information will be your department and/or college. However, generally there is contextual help for each field in an activity section, indicated by a blue circle with a question mark. Clicking on the question mark will open the help dialog box.
Faculty and those they grant permission to, have access to their own accounts. In addition, department chairs and those they designate have access to accounts of departmental faculty. Deans and those they designate have access to accounts of faculty in their college/school. The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Director of Faculty Affairs in the Provost Office have access to all faculty accounts. Other institutions do not have access to UofL Folio information.
Each school/college has assigned representatives that can answer questions on how the system has been developed. For the name of your representative, click here (PDF). In addition, anyone who has questions about UofL Folio can contact our Interfolio’s Scholar Services support team Monday through Friday:
  • By telephone at 877-997-8807 from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time
  • By email at help@interfolio.com, monitored 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time
Faculty input is essential to the success of the system. The system must fully document the contributions of the faculty and enable departments and schools/colleges to do reviews of faculty that are consistent with the values of their disciplines and the strategic priorities of their respective departments, colleges and the University. Each college has assigned representatives that can answer questions on how the system has been developed. People can send questions and suggestions to the representative from their college identified on individual college pages. You can also provide input directly to Vice Provost Tracy Eells at eells@louisville.edu.
An individual faculty member’s vita can be customized in many ways. To learn more, go to Interfolio’s product help center.

While faculty can enter and update activities in UofL Folio all year round, a submit button is only available from an initiated faculty activity input form. This form is created by the department or college's Uof L Folio Administrator for the faculty annual review period.
The initiated activity input form is important in the review process, as it gives faculty guidance on the activities that will be under review, as well as an opportunity to see these activities from the evaluator's point of view.
For guidance on creating an Initiated Activity Form, please see the how-to guide on Interfolio’s product help center.
