The University of Louisvilles incoming freshman will be joining in a covenant with the school, according to UofL President Dr. James Ramsey. As part of freshman orientation, Dr. Ramsey is telling the new students and their parents that UofL faculty and staff are promising to do everything they can to see each student graduate in four years. But, the president says, theres no guarantee unless students fulfill their part of the deal and meet the high expectations of their professors. In other words, Ramsey told the freshmen, show up with your game face on.

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear announced Jan. 26 that he is entering into a memorandum of agreement with the University of Louisville to operate Kentucky’s Center for Renewable Energy Research and Environmental Stewardship.
Citing his resume as an educator and his accomplishments as a scholar, Pikeville College recognized University of Louisville President James R. Ramsey with an honorary degree Aug. 26.
University of Louisville President James Ramsey talked about the challenges and successes of the past year in his annual State of the University address Sept. 9. He also committed UofL to reach the "double the numbers" goals set by the Council on Postsecondary Education and detailed in the 2020 Plan, UofL's new strategic plan.
The State of the University ceremony allows us to celebrate our past achievements, to reflect on our challenges, and most importantly, to recommit, as a campus community, to achieving the mandate given to us by the people of the commonwealth of Kentucky.
