The University of Louisville's talented faculty and staff work on
exciting, leading-edge research, and last week the university was on the
international stage for one such study. Dr. Susan Harkema is the lead
author of an article
detailing how she and colleagues have used electrical stimulation and
specialized, intensive physical therapy to help a previously paralyzed
man stand on his own. This breakthrough was published in the prestigious
medical journal The Lancet. The Wall Street Journal and many other U.S. and international media have picked up the story. Read more.
