UofL 2011 Highlights
Our faculty, staff and students have made this another wonderful year for UofL, here are just a few of the incredible accomplishments happening here:

  • Record-breaking academic achievement, including an unprecedented two-year total of 28 Fulbright scholars among our students, placing us among the top 20 schools in the nation in these awards.
  • Our highest six-year graduation rate in history, 51 percent, placing us significantly above average for metropolitan schools.
  • Groundbreaking research into heart disease and spinal injuries that promise to help heart patients live longer and better and paralysis patients walk again.
  • The opening of Cardinal Towne, with its shops and restaurants that have helped transform Belknap Campus into an even more student-friendly place.
  • A surprising run by our football team that led to its second consecutive bowl, the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, N.C. 
  • And just this month, we welcomed six new tenants to the NUCLEUS Innovation Park, nearly filling that research and office space and spurring economic development in downtown Louisville.
I look forward to an even more exciting and accomplished 2012.
