Robert Curtis Hughes

Dr. Hughes is a graduate of Transylvania University with magna cum laude honors in biology and winner of the Whitehouse Outstanding Pre-med Award. He is also a graduate of the University of Louisville School Of Medicine. His residency was in Family Practice where he was the Chief Resident.
He is the Founder, Treasurer, and Managing Partner of Primary Care Medical Center one of the largest primary care practices and most technologically advanced practices in KY. He was the former Chairman of the Kentucky State Medicaid Pharmacy program for 9 years and he was a member of the National Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for Wellcare. Dr. Hughes also served on the former national advisory board member of Amicore, a national EMR company which was a consortium of Pfizer, IBM, and Microsoft.
Currently, he has served 10 years on the University of Louisville Board of Trustees, and serves as Trustee Representative and Chairman of the University of Louisville Foundation, Inc. He is a former Chair of the Academic and Student Affairs, Compensation, and Strategic Planning Committees and a former board member of University Hospital. He is a member of the Board of Directors of CFSB bank, the largest bank in the Purchase Area. He is a member of its Investment Committee. Dr. Hughes is the founder and Chairman of Helping His Kids, a 501C3 organization to help needy children at Christmas. Dr. Hughes has served on over 30 boards, 17 of which he has chaired over his career. He is married to Joyce F. Hughes, MD, a pediatrician, and they have four sons.
