Undergraduate Research
Engaging in research is an integral part of students’ experience in the Department of Political Science. We would like to alert Political Science students to several unique opportunities to conduct research on a wide variety of topics. These opportunities include the Department of Political Science Honors Program, research-intensive courses, internships, faculty research projects, and Pi Sigma Alpha white papers. Each of these is described in further detail below.
Some student research projects may merit modest financial support from various university sources, and exceptional projects may result in invitations to present the research at scholarly forums or professional conferences. Projects are closely supervised by faculty members with expertise in the area of students’ research interests, and students are encouraged to avail themselves of the advice and support these faculty can provide.
