Student Scholarships are now available for Louisville Committee on Foreign Relations membership
The Louisville Committee on Foreign Relations is pleased to announce its new Student Sponsorship program for UofL, Bellarmine and IU Southeast students studying political science and who have a demonstrated interest in foreign affairs.
The Louisville Committee on Foreign Relations is the oldest foreign policy association in Louisville, operating continuously since 1938. It currently has about 100 members from the legal, business, and academic communities in the Louisville metropolitan region. The mission of the LCFR is to promote informed dialogue on issues relating to American foreign policy. To that end, each month we host a luncheon or dinner meeting with leading policy experts, practitioners, journalists and scholars of international relations and foreign policy. We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization. Membership is by invitation.
The intended purpose of the student sponsorships is to provide college students with the support necessary to be a term (one-year) member in the LCFR. These scholarships will cover the yearly membership fee, and the cost of meeting lunches and dinners. Recipients will be expected to attend at least 6 of the 9-10 meetings each year. Usually, meetings are held at Vincenzo’s restaurant at 5th and Main in downtown Louisville.
