Jasmine Farrier grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and developed her interest in political science as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In graduate school, she studied American political development at the University of Texas at Austin and received her Ph.D. in 2000. She was a post-doctoral fellow with the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia from 2000-2001. In 2002, Farrier joined the Dept. of Political Science at the University of Louisville as an assistant professor. She was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2007.
