Christopher Cunningham, a 2005 graduate of the Political Science Department has received a Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) for Intensive Summer Institutes for 2009.  Christopher will use his CLS award to study beginning Punjabi in India.  The CLS program is sponsored by the United States Department of State to offer instensive overseas study in critical need foreign languages.  Since the program began in 2006 eight University of Louisville students have received Critical Language Scholarships.
