Applicant Criminal Record Checks

by r0stew03 last modified Nov 01, 2007 03:23 PM

The University Police assist the University Human Resources office in the screening of applicants for those University positions that have been determined to need a criminal record check.  The records of the University Police are checked along with those of the Jefferson County court system for criminal law convictions for those applicants living in Louisville.  Other jurisdictions may be checked depending on the residence and/or employment of the applicant.  Public Safety is also available to assist in the interpretation of criminal justice records and to suggest additional avenues of inquiry.  Departments, in consultation with Human Resources, are encouraged to review their personnel positions to determine if that particular position needs a criminal record check performed.
