Did you ever wonder...
Campers will explore the wonders of space and astronomy through a diverse collection of engaging activities, from artistic to athletic to scientific. Each day focuses on a unique theme (See Schedule) designed to sample major areas of space exploration and astronomy through hands-on investigations and team activities.
Fast-paced, this camp allows for a balance of work and play, teamwork and creativity.

Build a hand-held telescope and practice using it under the stars of the planetarium
Build a scale model of the solar system
Take a virtual trip to the Moon and design a lunar base with your team
Get your astronaut patch by preparing to live, work, and play in space
Build and test your own Mars lander

Located on the Belknap Campus of the University of Louisville, this facility is uniquely positioned to offer the technology and educational experiences that connect people to the universe and science in exciting and engaging ways.
Camp Leadership
This camp is led by Rachel Connolly, planetarium director and faculty member in the College of Education and Human Development. Rachel designed and managed children’s programs for the past 7 years at the American Museum of Natural History. She is a NASA Graduate Fellow and has helped students design experiments that have flown on the space shuttle and the International Space Station.
