Dual Field Experiences

In addition to the exciting full-day programs we offer on site, you can choose to split the day between the planetarium and one of our collaborators.

The Kentucky Derby Museum
Supernovas to Superstars
Grades 4-8

Gallop over to the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium and the Kentucky Derby Museum for a joint field trip adventure, as we explore the origins of Kentucky's soil, beginning with the formation of the Universe. We investigate the role of plate tectonics and natural processes in forming and shaping the natural wonders, in particular the soil of Kentucky and its role in producing the fastest racehorses in the world. It's a winning daily double!

To schedule this winning duo contact either Ronnie Dreistadt at the Kentucky Derby Museum or Kimberly Whitehead at the planetarium.

(Note: Click either 3-5 or 6-8 for details on the program that is part of this dual offering with KDM: Earth's Changing Landscape).
