Roving Astronomer

The Roving Astronomer program is an outreach program of the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium that is available for groups. A planetarium-like program is performed at a site chosen by the group. Possible programs include the planets of the Solar System; stars, their formation and death; images from the Hubble Space Telescope; or constellations visible in the current night sky. With some planning, it might even be possible to design a program more tailored to the needs of the group. These programs can include an observation with telescope(s), if weather permits.

There is a minimum cost of $60.00 for a group of 24 or less. For groups of 25 or more, the rate is $2.50 per person.

Group reservations can be made by calling (502) 852-6664, weekdays from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
