"The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies": Free viewing!

Each year millions of monarch butterflies journey across North America, flying 2,000 miles to reach a remote area high in the mountains of Mexico. Scientists marvel at the tremendous feat of endurance as well as the precision of their journey.

The Arts Council of Southern Indiana (ACSI) celebrates this annual journey on August 9, 1 PM - 6 PM with an exciting, free, family-oriented event that includes the release of 250 butterflies. Details are on the ACSI website.

On August 10, 4:30 PM, the planetarium is joining the celebration of the monarch with a free screening of PBS's "The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies," in which NOVA flies along with the monarchs providing incredibly stunning details about the scientific marvel we call the monarch.

Come early to see one of our public shows (1, 2 and 3 PM) on August 10th  and get a special rate of $5 per person!
