Ecological Subjectivities, Responsibility, and Agency

Focussing on interconnected questions about who “we” are whose responsibilities and agency are at issue in this reflection, I will suggest that engaging with the complexities of climate-change scepticism and its implications for social justice requires analyses that begin from often-uncontested, tacit assumptions about human subjectivity as these inform the instituted social imaginary of the affluent western world. I conclude with some thoughts about why “we” might rethink or re-enact who we are, in order - ecologically, at least – to reconsider the manner of “our” dwelling in/with the world.
