2018 - 2019 Parking Options

Employees and Graduate Students

 

The University Parking Committee recommended a number of parking changes for the 2018-19 academic year which have been approved and are effective August 20:

  • The third floor of the Floyd Street garage will become employee (blue permit) parking and resident student parking will be moved to the roof.
  • All Green permitted spaces will be converted to Blue permitted spaces.
  • The Floyd Street South lot (across from Yum Center) will become Resident permit parking.
  • All permitted spaces on the street near the intersection of First Street and Brandeis Street will become Health Sciences Center permit parking.
  • The lot between Miller Hall and the SAC will become hourly visitor parking.
  • Sales of all permit types except the Purple (stadium) permit are limited to match available spaces. Waiting lists will be used to offer or upgrade permits as they become available.
  • Employee permits will be available for sale online and within the Parking Office(s) July 1.

Resident Students

 

The University of Louisville is pleased to provide an overview of parking options for 2018/19 residents. The following is a list of available resident parking locations:

  • Resident spaces are located west of 3rd Street. A limited number of spaces located in the resident lot at the end of Cardinal Blvd are dedicated to residents working at UPS. An additional sticker will be available for these residents.
  • The Floyd Street Garage resident spaces are located on the 3rd floor ramp and roof.
  • The Third Street South lot (across from Reynolds Lofts)
  • The Floyd Street South lot (across from Yum Center)
  • The "T" lot on the southeast corner of Floyd Street and Central Avenue will become a low cost option for resident students who want to store cars near campus for occasional use. Students who need frequent access to their cars are advised not to select this option.
  • Permit sales are limited to match available spaces. Waiting lists will be used to offer or upgrade permits as they become available.
  • Resident student permits will be available online and within the Parking Office(s) starting July 1.

Commuter Students

 

The University Parking Committee, comprised of representatives of the faculty senate, staff senate and student government association, recommended a number of parking changes for the 2018-19 academic year which have been approved and are effective August 20, 2018:

  • The entire Floyd Street Garage roof and ramp will become resident student permit parking.
  • The remainder of the third floor will become employee (blue permit) parking.
  • The Third Street South lot (across from Reynolds Lofts) will be available for Graduate Student, Resident and Part-Time Faculty permit parking.
  • The Floyd Street South lot (across from Yum Center) will become Resident permit parking.
  • All remaining Green permit spaces will become Blue permit spaces.
  • The lot between Miller Hall and the SAC will become hourly visitor parking.
