Summary of Parking System
Any motor vehicle parked on University property, other than in paid meter spaces or short term pay parking lots, must display a valid University of Louisville parking permit or pass. The type of permit indicates the areas where the vehicle may be parked. Use of a motor vehicle on University of Louisville property is a privilege, not a right, and is made available only under the policies established in the University Parking Regulations currently in effect.
Any vehicle inhibiting traffic flow, hampering fire protection, parked illegally in a reserved or handicapped space, blocking handicap access, blocking dumpsters, using a reported lost/stolen or forged/altered parking permit, designated tow away zones or has accumulated three or more unpaid parking citations and have been warned is subject to immediate tow and impoundment.
All motor vehicle and parking regulations are in effect 24 hours every day, including designated pay parking lots and university residence facility parking lots. Parking permits are required from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Red reserved spaces are enforced 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Certain red reserved spaces are enforced 24 hours a day and will be designated as such.
