Permit Registration
- Any student, faculty or staff member, or person with university business desiring to park on property owned or controlled by the university, except paid meter spaces or short term pay parking lots, must display a valid University of Louisville parking permit from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Yellow (resident) parking areas are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Parking permits may be purchased on the Belknap Campus at the Parking Office located in the Floyd Street Parking Structure and at the Health Sciences Center Campus Parking Office located in the Chestnut Street Parking Structure. The permit application is also available by visiting the forms page on our web site. A parking permit may not be issued to an individual who has unpaid parking citations.
- Green and purple parking permits are available to faculty, staff, and students with 90 or more academic hours. Yellow parking permits are available to all students who reside at the University of Louisville. Student residents who wish to purchase a yellow parking permit will be required to present proof of residency on campus and proof of ownership of a motor vehicle (registration and/or title). Student residents will be permitted to purchase only one yellow parking permit. The yellow parking permit must be validated for the spring semester by January 14, 2008. Student must present Yellow permit to receive validation sticker. Red and blue parking permits are available to faculty and staff. Graduate assistants are eligible to purchase a blue permit with letter from department chair. HSC Chestnut Street Parking Garage permits (Magenta designation) and Jewish Hospital Parking Garage permits are available to faculty and staff. Students may purchase the garage permits if the Parking Office determines the supply is greater than the demand by faculty and staff. Gold permits are issued to members of the Board of Trustees and silver permits are issued to members of the Board of Overseers and University of Louisville Foundation. Special permits and accommodations are available for medically verifiable disabled or handicapped students, staff or faculty. Permits issued have a barcode imprinted on the bottom. When accessing a parking gate, remove permit from rearview mirror and swipe bottom of permit through card reader on gate for entry.
- University employees using their personal vehicle for on campus University business should consult with the Parking Office staff to determine eligibility for loading zone permits.
