Parking System Policy
Any motor vehicle parked on University property, other than in paid meter spaces or short-term pay parking lots, must display a valid University of Louisville parking permit or pass. The type of permit indicates the areas where the vehicle may be parked. Use of a motor vehicle on University of Louisville property is a privilege, not a right, and is made available only under the policies established in the University Parking Regulations currently in effect.
Any vehicle inhibiting traffic flow, hampering fire protection, parking illegally in a reserved or handicapped space, blocking handicap access, blocking dumpsters, displaying a reported lost/stolen or forged/altered parking permit, parking in designated tow away zones or has accumulated three or more unpaid parking citations is subject to immediate tow and impoundment.
All motor vehicle and parking regulations are in effect 24 hours every day. Parking permits are required from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Red reserved spaces are enforced 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Certain red reserved spaces are enforced 24 hours per day 7 days per week and will be designated with signage at location. The purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space. These regulations become effective August 24, 2015 and are subject to change without notice when necessary to facilitate the parking program. When changes or modifications are necessary, an announcement will be made, if possible, in appropriate University publications prior to the effective date of the change. It is the responsibility of permit holders to keep their parking account contact information up to date.
