UNIVERSITY PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Permit Registration

  1. Any student, faculty or staff member, or person with university business desiring to park on property owned or controlled by the university, except paid meter spaces or pay parking lots, must display a valid University of Louisville parking permit from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Resident (Yellow, Orange and Brown)  parking areas are enforced 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
  2. Parking permits may be purchased on the Belknap Campus at the Parking Office located in the Floyd Street Parking Garage and at the Health Sciences Center Campus Parking Office located in the Chestnut Street Parking Garage. The permit application is also available on our webpage at www.louisville.edu/parking. A parking permit may not be issued to an individual who has unpaid parking citations.
  3. Green parking permits are available to faculty, staff, alumni and students with 90 or more academic credit hours. Purple parking permits are available to all members of the University community. Resident parking permits are
    available to all students who live in a University of Louisville residence facility. Student residents who wish to purchase a Resident parking permit will be required to present proof of ownership of a motor vehicle (registration, title or insurance card). Student residents will be permitted to purchase only one Resident parking permit. Color of  Resident permit is determined by location of residence facility. Red and Blue permits are available to faculty and staff.Graduate assistants are eligible to purchase a Blue permit upon verification of appointment.  Permit must be returned/exchanged upon end of appointment.  Graduate Assistants purchasing Blue permits must do so in the Parking Office. Chestnut Street Garage permits  (Magenta designation) and Jewish Hospital Parking Garage permits (Magenta designation) are available to faculty and staff.  620 HSC Garage permits (Magenta designation) are available to faculty, staff and students. Gold permits are issued to members of the Board of Trustees and Silver permits are issued to members of the Board of Overseers, University of Louisville Foundation and Athletic Association.  Accessible permits and accommodations are available to students, staff and faculty with medically verifiable disabilities. University employees using their personal vehicle for on-campus University business should consult with the Parking Office staff to determine eligibility for loading zone permits.
  4. Permit required for student will be determined by student's enrolled credits on each campus.
