TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO STUDY ABROAD
SUMMER 2012

Located just six miles off the coast of Venezuela, the two island nation of Trinidad & Tobago is the southernmost of the Caribbean Islands offering a unique environment to experience the diversity of the African Diaspora!
The University of Louisville, Department of Pan-African Studies, together with the University of West Indies, St Augustine, offers a 3-week program in Caribbean Studies in Trinidad & Tobago.
Students are required to write a research paper on his or her chosen topic (previously chosen topics include: African Tradition in the Tobago Heritage Festival, Female Body Image in Carnival, Black Power and Calypso, Spiritual Baptist Religious Traditions, and many others).
Students will also participate in a number of lectures and cultural workshops, as well as visit many historical/cultural places of interest around the islands.
The PAS Trinidad and Tobago program is offered to upper-level undergraduate and graduate students from all academic backgrounds, and SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!
