Project ORION StructureListed below are the various teams, committees, councils, and sponsorships identified to
implement, support, guide, direct, and contribute to the successful implementations of the
PeopleSoft Student Administration and Human Resources Management systems at the University
of Louisville.
University President - The President's endorsement of this project is essential to its success.
There will be many challenging decisions to be made and the constituents must be confident they
have the President's full support to make those decisions, even when the decision will not be a
popular one. It is vital this project retain a high level of exposure and support throughout its
lifetime.
Provost's Operations Council - The Operations Council
receives quarterly reports from the
Project Management Team, presented by the Vice President for Information Technology, on the
status and progress of the project. Policy issues which cross vice presidential organizational
boundaries are brought to the Operations Council, as required, for resolution.
Advisory Committees - The HRMS and SAS Project Advisory Committees meet, jointly if
necessary, to review policy issues referred by the Project Management Team.
These committees include representation from the Office of the Provost, the Office of Planning and Budget,
the University Policy and Program Development Advisory Committee, the constituency Senates,
and the academic and administrative units. They and the University Policy and Program
Development Advisory Committee advise the Project Management Team on policy issues
that are identified in the implementation process. The advisory committees
seek comments
and advice from the constituency Senates and other appropriate bodies as necessary. Finally,
should the groups need explanations or information on technical issues, IT
makes that
assistance available.
Project Management Team -- This team
is responsible
for developing and executing the Communications Plan and for overall project implementation.
SAS Core Project Team-- This
team is responsible for the successful
implementation of all modules of the SAS application. They raise policy
issues to the Project Management Team and form ad hoc teams to discuss issues, policies,
and procedures affected by the new SAS.
HRMS Core Project Team-- This
team is responsible for the successful implementation of all modules of the
HRMS application. They
raise policy issues to the Project Management Team and form ad hoc
teams to discuss issues, policies, and procedures affected by the new HRMS.
System Integration Team-- This
team consists of participants from
both the SAS and HRMS Core project teams who work together on common issues which
affect both projects. This group is responsible for forwarding policy issues to the Project
Management Team as well as for identifying and forwarding data administration issues to the Project
Management Team. This group works with the campus community to assist them with
their transitions to the desktop technologies required to support the applications.
Technical Infrastructure Group -
This team is responsible for implementing the hardware,
software, and network infrastructure to support the project.
