Project ORION Structure

Listed below are the various teams, committees, councils, and sponsorships identified to implement, support, guide, direct, and contribute to the successful implementations of the PeopleSoft Student Administration and Human Resources Management systems at the University of Louisville.

There will be many challenging decisions to be made and the constituents must be confident they have the President's full support to make those decisions, even when the decision will not be a popular one. It is vital this project retain a high level of exposure and support throughout its lifetime.

Provost's Operations Council - The Operations Council receives quarterly reports from the Project Management Team, presented by the Vice President for Information Technology, on the status and progress of the project. Policy issues which cross vice presidential organizational boundaries are brought to the Operations Council, as required, for resolution.

Advisory Committees - The HRMS and SAS Project Advisory Committees meet, jointly if necessary, to review policy issues referred by the Project Management Team. These committees include representation from the Office of the Provost, the Office of Planning and Budget, the University Policy and Program Development Advisory Committee, the constituency Senates, and the academic and administrative units. They and the University Policy and Program Development Advisory Committee advise the Project Management Team on policy issues that are identified in the implementation process. The advisory committees seek comments and advice from the constituency Senates and other appropriate bodies as necessary. Finally, should the groups need explanations or information on technical issues, IT makes that assistance available.
