Class Rosters

You may get online, real-time class rosters over the WEB by following these instructions for access to the ORION system at this URL:

  1. LOGIN ID and PASSWORD: You do not access your grade roster through the same method as you access you paystub. Please read these instructions carefully.
    1. If you already have a PeopleSoft Account to access student information or human resources information, use your current account name and password. The system will know you are accessing the WEB for the first time, and it will request that you change your password to a new password. If you don’t want to change, just type in your current password as your new password.
    2. If you do not already have a PeopleSoft Account, then one has been created for you. Your login id is the letter W followed by your 7-digit employee ID. Your initial password is the first 2 characters of your first name, the first 2 characters of your last name, and the last four numbers of your employee ID. You will be prompted to change it at that time to a new password of your choosing for further access to the system. NOTE: If you are on the system with an initial only for your first name, your password was constructed using the first 2 characters of your middle name instead of your first name.
  2. ONCE YOU LOG ON: On the left hand side of the screen, you will see you menu options under “For Instructor”. Click on that and you will see options for Class Roster, Process Grade Roster, and Instructor Schedule. All of these are functional, but click on Class Roster to get access to current real-time class lists. A search screen will appear on the right hand side. You may use the drop down boxes to search for your class, but for easiest access, type in UOFL1 as the institution, 4018 as the Fall 2001 term, and then click on the search button button. You should then see a list of your classes for the Fall Term at the bottom of the panel. Click on the one you want to see.
  3. Other Options: 
    1. You may use the other two options to submit your grades and to check on your teaching schedule.  (Note:  If you are teaching a course that is still listed as "Instructor TBA," you will not have access to any online functions because you are not the instructor of record. Remember to enter the Institution as UOFL1, and enter the term as  4018 for Fall 2001 for fastest access.
    2. You may set the Institution permanently to UOFL1 under User Preferences.
    3. You may access the on-line schedule of classes with real-time enrollment information under Class Search.
    4. You may access on-line course descriptions under Course Catalog.
  4. Where do I go if I need help?
This is our first attempt using this new functionality, so problems or questions are expected.You may address questions to our Groupwise service account Register.This is checked several times a day.You may call our office at 2137, and someone will record your problem and we will get back to you promptly.If you are on campus, the best option is to come to room 3 in the Miller Information Technology Center where will be collecting grades.We will have several workstations logged on the WEB and Registrar’s Office staff will be there to assist you with any questions or problems.Since the use of the WEB is voluntary, you may always turn your grades in the traditional way if you experience any problems using this method.
If you experience any difficulties with your password, you should contact the help Desk (7997) for assistance.If you log on successfully but do not have the option For Instructors, or cannot pull up your roster, we may not have you correctly entered as the instructor in the system.Contact the Registrar’s Office through the methods described above to resolve those problems.
