Milestones since March 1999
System deployment and implementation

Continued planning, design, and data conversion
activities to implement systems.

Implemented new system modules:
-
Financial Aid -- April 1999. Implementation
included successful processing and notifications for 13,102 awards (more
than $30 million) to 6,671 individuals.

Admissions (all Graduate and Undergraduate
elements) -- May 1999.
-
Student Records-Program Plans -- May 1999.
Implementation included successful conversion of 130,000+ current student
records.

Student Records-Earned Hours -- May 1999.
-
Medical Admissions -- June 1999.

Continued development and testing of Payroll
module. First pay date from the new system will be July 9.

Prototyped direct billing, applicant tracking
and faculty tenure-tracking modules.

Continued system security analysis and identification
for end users' needs.

Worked with IVR vendor Epos to implement new
Touchtone system for use beginning in July.

Continued software development and technical
adjustments to operating platform to accommodate Touchtone/IVR, Web forms
and access, and general system improvements.

After university contract for PeopleSoft Financials/Advancement/Grants&Contracts
modules, worked with CTP to schedule and complete initial "Scope" analysis
of limited implementation of Financials modules for budgeting use.
Staffing and training
-
Recognized dedicated service of project team,
CTP consultants and PS representatives at two special events celebrating
two years of work.

Bid farewell to CTP project leads Walter and
Donna as each left for new assignments elsewhere.

Trained advising staff and others for changeover
beginning in July.

Continued PeopleSoft orientation programs
for academic and support units.

Continued participation in PeopleSoft Higher
Education special-interest group.
Issues
-
The inelastic timeframe for implementation
continues to require intensive, detailed project planning and heavy demands
on team and end user staff, including overtime and holiday work.

Timely receipt of system modifications and
improvements from PeopleSoft must be insured for scheduled implementation
to be completed.
