Project ORION

Web-based Functions in PeopleSoft 7.0

Human Resources and Student Administration modules in PeopleSoft Release 7.0 will include some functions that can be addressed through the World-Wide Web. These functions are mainly information and service operations by which an individual university student, faculty or staff member can directly complete business that now may involve several calls, office visits or correspondence. These functions may be available through any WWW access point (ULNet, on-campus Computer User Center, or outside service provider) or through computer kiosks that will be installed on campus in the enrichment phase of Project ORION. Security for such information and service functions will be provided by an ID+PIN (e.g., Social Security number and 'personal identity number') record such as is presently being used for telephone registration. Additional 'Web applets' are being developed for later release.
