Online Degree Tuition

At University of Louisville, the tuition for online degrees is the same for both in-state and out-of-state online students.

Tuition Rates
Graduate online course $764 per credit hour
Active-duty* service members and Coast Guard members $690 per credit hour – (Active Duty Departmental Award)**. This award is available for those who self-identify as active duty and who meet qualification requirements.
Qualifying members of the Reserve Component and National Guard eligible for Title X (Federal) TA May be eligible for the Active Duty Departmental Award.

*Active-Duty is defined as on orders for 180 days or more in the United States Military.

**Important! The Active Duty Departmental Award of $74 per credit hour is NOT a tuition reduction applied before the student has enrolled. The award will be processed in the form of reimbursement AFTER the student has enrolled in the MEEM program and will be reflected as such on the financial statement.

  • The award will bring the cost per credit hour to $690 ONLY for Engineering Management (EM) courses.
  • MEEM students taking non-EM courses will pay the regular military rate of $250 per credit hour.
  • Active-duty service members enrolled in other programs and taking EM courses will pay $690 per credit hour.

For more information about eligibility for the Active Duty Departmental Award, please contact Leigh Ann Elles at

Online courses are charged at a different hourly rate than regular courses. Students are charged in full for online courses according to those rates even if taking a full-time course load. Tuition rate does not include costs associated with a specific course or program, such as textbooks.

If you're receiving a tuition scholarship, please check the monetary value to determine whether the cost of online courses is covered.

Tuition and fees are subject to change at any time without prior notice. The summary on this page is intended to provide a quick reference for students. For more information and updates, visit the UofL Bursar's page.
