Career and Technical Education
This Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Learning track is designed for career and technical education instructors. It is for professionals who have obtained positions as teachers of career and technical education in technical centers or secondary schools in Kentucky and need to become "state certified" to secure their teaching position.
Courses focus on teaching, evaluation and classroom management skills. To qualify, an individual must be accepted to the program through the Kentucky Department of Education's New Teacher Institute and be employed as a career and technical education teacher in Kentucky. Typical students in the program will have earned an associate degree in the content area in which teacher certification is sought.
The BSOLL Career and Technical Education Grades 5-12 Rank Change program requires completion of the NTI courses, as well as up to 24 hours of the degree core courses, for a total of 120 hours with an overall grade point average of 2.25 and a grade point average of 2.5 and a C or better earned in all major courses.
Graduates of this program receive a Rank 1 from the Education Professional Standards Board by completing a CA-1 form and submitting a UofL transcript once the degree is conferred.
