MEEM Online Degree Overview
The online master’s degree in engineering management is designed for experienced professionals who have earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific areas and want to develop superior skills in managing engineering projects, products and services. Online Learning
Courses: Online courses in the engineering management graduate program are designed by following the same high quality development standards as those offered on campus. Courses focus on business fundamentals of project management, finance, as well as management, ethics and leadership principles.
Online courses are delivered through Blackboard, an easy-to-use learning platform that provides students the ability to view lectures, interact with peers, communicate with professors and complete projects and assignments.
Online learning helps students gain valuable skills in time management, communication and networking, as well as business writing and project management.
Assignments: The number and frequency of assignments will be determined by the course instructor. In general, written assignments will be submitted electronically through Blackboard. Graded assignments will be returned to the student either via email or Blackboard.
Exams: When required, the exam format and method is determined by each instructor. In general, the student can arrange for a suitable proctor and take the exam at a distance or come to campus to take exams.

Admission Requirements
In addition to completing the application for admission online and paying the $60 non-refundable application fee, applicants must provide:

Bachelor of Science degree (or its equivalent) in engineering or related scientific field from a regionally-accredited institution.

2.75 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. Students with a cumulative baccalaureate grade point average between 2.50 and 2.75 may be admitted conditionally upon petition review and approval, on a case-by-case basis.

Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work. All transcripts not in English must be certified as authentic and translated verbatim in English.

Two letters of recommendation.
International students whose primary language is not English must show English language proficiency by attaining one of the following:
a) Total score of 80 or higher on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based test or 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or
b) Successful completion of the exit examination for the advanced level of the Intensive English as a Second Language Program (IESL) at the University of Louisville, or
c) Demonstration of a degree award from an acceptable English language institution.

Note: Applications received at least six weeks prior to the beginning of a term will be given priority.
Applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis. Students not meeting the minimum requirements may still be admitted. Remedial work may be specified for those applicants who, in the opinion of the faculty, do not have a sufficient background in engineering.

Financial Aid
Graduate students enrolled in the Master of Engineering in Engineering Management at UofL are eligible for federal financial aid in the form of unsubsidized Stafford Loans during an academic year (fall, spring and summer). Typically the first step is to file the FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Graduate students do not qualify for departmental funding or financial aid (from J.B. Speed School of Engineering).
