Accreditation and State Authorization Regulations
Accreditation
The University of Louisville is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). SACS is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the southern states. The SACS Principles of Accreditation apply to all programs of the institution, regardless of mode of delivery. A requirement for continued accreditation by SACS is that institutions must ensure that their distance and correspondence education courses and programs comply with the Principles of Accreditation. This applies to all educational programs and services, wherever located or however delivered. The university received reaffirmation of accreditation in 2007. The next review will take place in 2017. The University of Louisville is in compliance with the SACS Distance and Correspondence Education Policy and adheres to the principles of good practice.
