The University of Louisville School of Nursing is an essential partner in a research intensive academic health sciences center with schools of dentistry, medicine, and public health.

Our goal is to be a nationally recognized school of nursing in research and creative scholarly productivity.

Our faculty create and disseminate new knowledge to improve health outcomes and quality of life of a variety of populations. These populations include persons with chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, cardiovascular disease, and substance abuse, teenage mothers, persons with cancer, children with special needs and their caregivers, and persons in long-term care, to name a few. Key research foci include:

  • Self-management of Symptoms of Chronic Conditions
  • Health Services Research
  • Mental Health Promotion
  • Environmental Health
  • Child and Adolescent Health
