Kentucky Racing Health Services Center

Serving Health Care Needs of the Backside Workers

The Kentucky Racing Health Services Center (KRHSC) is a not-for profit center funded by the Kentucky Racing Health and Welfare Fund (KRHWF).  The center was started in 2005 as a joint venture between the fund and the University of Louisville School of Nursing to provide comprehensive health care services to the backside workers of the Thoroughbred racing industry. The KRHSC provided more than 13,000 patient visits in its first ten years of service.

The KRHSC offers free or low-cost care to individuals who are currently employed as backside workers, as well as their family members. Individuals need to complete a brief eligibility form with the KRHWF.
