Curriculum

Required Courses

The PhD in Nursing consists of at least 64 semester credit hours of coursework beyond the baccalaureate degree or 46 semester credit hours beyond a master’s degree plus dissertation credit hours.

BSN Students

The following courses are pre-requisites to any doctoral level courses. All BSN students must complete the following 18 semester hours of master's level courses:

MSN Applicants

It's strongly recommended that all applicants have completed a three-credit hour masters-level statistics course with a grade of "B" (3.0) or higher. The course should have been completed within five years before the date of enrollment. The Associate Dean for Graduate Academic Affairs maintains a database of available statistics courses that may be used as a refresher course.
