Congratulations to assistant professor Alona Pack, MSN, MA, RN, and the KYANNA Black Nurses Association. Pack serves as president of the chapter which recently received a small grant from the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) to provide educational materials, masks and encouragement greetings cards to senior citizens in residential facilities. This includes Pack’s clinical site, the J.O. Blanton House, along with Community Towers and Flaget Apartments.

The NBNA awarded $1,000 to the KYANNA Black Nurses Association for a project titled, “Social Support for Isolated Senior Adults During the COVID-19 Pandemic (CDC).” Brenda Hackett, MSN, RN, will lead the local initiative and items will be delivered through a no-contact exchange with the facility service coordinators.
