Honor Society of Nursing recognizes Logsdon with International Award for Nursing Excellence

In conjunction with its 40th Biennial Convention, the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, International, presented M. Cynthia Logsdon, DNS, ARNP, FAAN with the 2009 Research Dissemination Award.

The Research Dissemination Award recognizes an individual or group who has made major contributions to the dissemination of research for use in clinical nursing practice, education, administration, research, or public knowledge. Dissemination of research findings refers to a systematic effort or project directed toward making the essentials of completed research available to nurses or the public in an accessible or useable format.  

Dr. Logsdon received the award for her leadership in the development of the National Institute of Health funded website on postpartum depression, MedEdPPD. The website is a rich source of information for health professionals and consumers for the most common disorder of childbearing, postpartum depression.
