Clinical
Clinical experiences take place in Level IIIb and Level IIIc units as well as transitional, developmental and newborn nurseries. Some outreach work is performed in the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic in Louisville and satellite sites.
The program offers clinical simulations utilizing BabySim and provides a number of laboratory experiences to supplement clinical learning. The clinical skill of circumcision as a competency has been added. We also offer the ability to certify in NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E. due to collaborations with Neonatal Nurse Practitioners in the Louisville area.
All curricular objectives are based on standards promulgated by the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
