The Master of Science in Nursing program is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Faculty have the highest qualifications and conduct research in their areas of specialization. Students choose an advanced practice concentration as part of the the degree requirement. Students are eligible to write the appropriate specialty certification examination upon completion of the program of study.

The University of Louisville, School of Nursing, offers Post-Masters certificates in five specialty concentrations. These five areas of specialization are: Adult Gerontology Acute, Adult Gerontology Primary, Family, Neonatal, and Psychiatric/Mental Health.
Effective Fall 2012, Post-Master's MSN Certificate students are not eligible for federal financial aid. Students may apply for private loans and institutional funding.
